Castlerigg Hall wins Holiday Park of the Year 2009

Our Gold supporting members Castlerigg Hall (Keswick) have been awarded the Holiday Park of the Year at the annual Cumbria Tourism Awards 2009.

Wainwright Society Calendar 2010 supporting Fix the Fells
The Wainwright Society is producing a Lakeland calendar for 2010, and we are delighted that the Society has agreed that all profits generated from sales of the calendar will be donated to Fix the Fells.

Our July fundraising event for our Staveley Riverside Walk raised £201 to help develop a new walk that can be enjoyed by all.
Elterwater Riverside Walk site visit

Regents Hotel, Lakes Lodge and Lakes House are all currently supporting our Miles without Stiles project at Elterwater. The popular riverside walk suffers badly from flooding and as a result the surface of the path has become damaged, uncomfortable to walk on and unsightly. Further more the areas of uneven surface proves problematic for wheelchair users or families with pushchairs.
Success at Staveley Mill Yard fundraising event!

Thanks to everyone who kindly donated to park their vehicle at the Staveley Mill Yard over the October half term. We raised £274.75 towards our Miles without Stiles project along the River Kent in Staveley. Also, a very special thank you to our volunteers - John Berry, Helen Mitchinson, Alan Wilkinson and Helen Batty, who helped run this event. This money will help kick start our project and the development of a new walk that everyone can enjoy.
Opt-in to help out
A new agreement between Nurture Lakeland and online booking sites Go Lakes and Guest Link, will help to raise money for Cumbria flood damage repairs.
Accommodation providers who advertise on the sites will be able to invite their guests to ‘opt-in’ to make a donation towards the Flood Appeal as part of their online booking. As many businesses as possible are encouraged to add the facility to their listing and help out.

Members' Christmas Lunch

The Tourism & Conservation Partnership team are delighted to invite you to the Christmas Lunch at The Rheged Centre, Penrith, on Wednesday the 16th of December at 12pm til 3pm. The annual christmas lunch provides the opportunity to hear all about the year's achievements and what we have planned for 2010.
Eigg's green challenge

Eigg is a tiny, beautiful island off the west coast of Scotland. Last year it entered a national carbon cutting competition, Nesta’s Big Green Challenge.
