Wine, mince pies and energy saving tips

dscf8808   Last week we headed out into the stormy weather armed with wine, mince pies and energy efficiency tips to talk to guests staying at Hapimag  Burnside park in Bowness. It was a perfect opportunity to share some energy saving ideas with guests but also hear their views on energy efficiency whilst on holiday. Do they think about it and whose responsibility is it to make sure energy isn’t wasted in the holiday cottage industry?

Tis the season to be fundraising…

When the nights start to draw in and the leaves turn, it means only one thing in our fundraising world - time to collect donation money from businesses for the fantastic projects we support. So armed with a cup of tea and my dog Jess by my side, I undertook the mammoth task of contacting the more than 200 businesses which fundraise for us. It was great to speak to the businesses, many recovering after a busy summer, and to hear about their innovative ways of securing contributions from visitors. SORCE thumbnail From a fundraising fun run to an extreme fell race, a cycling sportive to a swimming challenge, organised outdoor events are growing in popularity.

The Lake District and Cumbria is an obvious location for these events, with hills and lakes just waiting to be explored.
