Nurture Lakeland has a portfolio of sustainability campaigns that deal with local conservation, communities and climate change issues.

You can do your part to help support them. Small changes to your everyday life can make a world of difference and really help support our campaigns. If everyone contributes we can make a big positive impact and help keep Cumbria a beautiful and exciting place to be.

Love your Lakes

Loving the lakes is easy; we can all do our bit to help keep them special places to enjoy. By choosing to use phosphate free laundry and dishwashing products you can help hold back the tide of detergents getting into our lakes which can have a serious environmental impact. You can also try and reduce the amount of washing you do, either by choosing to reuse your towels in your hotel or by washing on full loads in your home or business. Also, remember Cumbria is a soft water area so we are fortunate enough to be able to use the minimum amount of product required and still get the same results.

Be Car Free

It’s important to remember that by using your car less just for one day of your holiday will benefit the local environment. You don’t have to stop using it all together… although, that would be great! Enjoy all that the Lake District has to offer by using public transport or get active and experience the great outdoors by walking or cycling while you explore. Similarly, if you live or work here, use your car less and help preserve the fantastic Cumbrian landscapes for many years.
