Apply for funding
Nurture Lakeland/Nurture Eden Small Grants Fund
Applications for funding for projects in all areas of Cumbria including Eden are welcomed and may be submitted at any time of year. Applications will be considered within 1 month of the submission deadline.
Current deadline for Small Grants - August 31st 2014
Are you looking for funding or a grant?
If you are running a project and are looking for funding, our Visitor Giving scheme may be able to help by awarding a small grant of upto £1,000 to cover all or part of the cost of the project.
What kind of projects do we support?
Projects must demonstrate a clear and positive contribution to the natural environment, for example by conserving biodiversity, taking measures to tackle climate change, educating communities, raising awareness or carrying out countryside maintenance. They should normally be accessible to members of the public, and where possible involve and benefit local communities.
Who can apply?
Support is open to any constituted group including charitable organisations, community interest companies, social enterprises, conservation agencies and local environment groups. Your group does not have to be a registered charity but it must have a constituted set of rules and a bank account. Support is NOT open to individuals or businesses. Organisations must agree to abide by Nurture Lakeland's Fundraising Agreement or Small Grants Acceptance Agreement.
How do I apply?
Please read the detailed information above. If you think your organisation and project meet our criteria, please contact us to discuss your project or email
for an application pack.
Alternatively you can download our:
Application Pack for Small Grants (includes guidance notes)
What happens next?
Applications for all grants and funding are considered by a Grants Panel, which meets once or twice a year. The panel is made up of the Nurture Lakeland Chair, Director, Fundraising Development Officer and members of external partner organisations. The panel will consider the applications and decide which projects to approve and the size of the grant to be awarded if applicable. We'll let you know whether your application has been successful within approximately 6 weeks of the deadline for submissions.
