Bee Creative Featured

Bee Creative is an education project run by the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal, aiming to increase understanding of the importance of different types of bees for the environment and our food chain. Local primary school children will get involved in science-based and creative activities to learn to identify different insects, discover about bees habitats and life-cycles, and factors that are affecting their decline. Their work will be developed into drawings and paintings as well as a collaborative piece of work – echoing the work pattern of bees. This will be exhibited at the Brewery Arts Centre.

To encourage the children and schools to take part in some practical conservation they will sew local wild flower seed and develop their school grounds into more bee-friendly places. The children will also learn how to make their own simple bee homes. Some will be left in the school grounds and some taken home to put in their own gardens.
