Whitehead Coppice Cycleway Featured

The Lake District National Park is creating a cycleway through Whitehead Coppice near Keswick.

Currently a permitted footpath runs through whitehead Coppice. The Lake District National Park is going to improve surfaces and gateways to make this footpath cycle friendly.

The Whitehead Coppice path provides access onto the Keswick railway footpath, which is a well used cycleway, recognised nationally as a SUSTRANS route.

The Whitehead Coppice cycleway will aslo provide access to St John's in the Vale, linking up popular existing cycle routes around Keswick.

Keswick is already being promoted as a major "hub" for cyclists, and the creation of this new cycling link will further enhance the appeal of the area to both visiting and local cyclists.
