Honister Hause YHA ^Featured

Refurbished to a high standard in 2009, this former quarry workers’ building is in a spectacular setting at the summit of Honister Pass, a high-level route connecting the valleys of Borrowdale and Buttermere.

This true mountain accommodation provides easy access to the famous high peaks of Central Lakeland - Scafell, Great Gable, Pillar, Red Pike and Dale Head, as well as many other classic walking routes. Breakfast, packed lunch and evening meals are available.

The hostel is situated next to the working Honister Slate Mine.
