The hostel stands on a green in a quiet, pretty village on both the Pennine Way and Cumbria Way. It's perfectly situated for exploring the moorland of the North Pennines or the green valleys of the River Eden.

The hostel is excellent for lovers of wildlife, walkers of all abilities, and miles of traffic-free lanes for cycling.
