Pennies from a pig

pigonatrigHow can a little pig help protect our Lake District landscapes? It’s  simple and it’s fun – take Pigling Bland on holiday and fabulous members, Lindeth Howe Hotel, where Beatrix Potter wrote her popular children’s book 100 years ago, will donate 1p per mile to help Fix the Fells.

Inspired by the 100 year anniversary of the book being written, Lindeth Howe are selling little, cuddly Pigling Blands (complete with his own Pigling passport!) for £10 to their guests and  anyone else who’d like to take part.

Here at Nurture, we’ve bought a ‘twinset’ of Piglings and they’ve already been on some exciting adventures: climbing a snowy Munro in Scotland, experiencing skiing in Italy and enjoying a latte in the Brecon Beacons! You can follow Pigling’s Nurture adventures on our Facebook page. Better still, why not buy your own and help raise vital funds to look after the Lake District.

It’s a great example of a quirky fundraising idea which can help raise money and the marketing profile of the business. We’ve got lots of ideas in our Fabulous Fundraising Toolkit.
