The Nurture Lakeland trustees and staff are looking for a new director to join the team at this exciting time. Nurture Lakeland is a highly reputable Cumbrian charity which has raised over £2 million for local conservation projects. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to build on the charity’s already strong foundations.

While no single person is likely to have experience in all facets of the organisation it is essential that the new director should be a first class communicator, equally at home being responsible to and working alongside the trustees, as motivating and nurturing a young, dedicated team.

The director should be able to demonstrate proven skills in strategic management, business development and fundraising and in taking responsibility for all aspects of Nurture Lakeland’s business activities.

A background in environmental and/or tourism sectors would be an advantage, as would local knowledge. The successful candidate for this position would need to show empathy with Nurture Lakeland’s ethos and values and be comfortable in driving the charity’s business forward in a sustainable manner, carrying the board and the team along with drive, ambition and enthusiasm.

The position would be based in Staveley, with travel throughout the county. A full UK driving licence would be essential. Salary circa £32,000 (performance related pay). For further details please download a job pack here.
