Mike Berners Lee to be guest speaker at Cumbria Action for Sustainability AGM

Cumbria Action for Sustainability will be holding its AGM on the evening of Thursday 27th June6.30pm-8.30pm in the Ballroom in the George Hotel in Penrith.

The AGM is fast approaching, and this year, for the very first time, as well as the official bit, they've got a guest speaker.  It's a real scoop for CAfS to be able to offer the people of Cumbria an audience with carbon-footprinting expert and author Mike Berners-Lee, especially as it's a free event!  So join them for a warm welcome by Hazel Graham, Charity Manager, a fascinating 30 minute talk by Mike Berners-Lee, and finally an overview of thier work by Chairman, Peter Ward.

For those who don't know, Mike Berners-Lee is director and principal consultant at Small World Consulting and is involved in sustainability research across many departments at Lancaster University, and has worked on energy and emissions with a wide range of corporate and public sector organisations. He is the author of 'How Bad are Bananas? The Carbon Footprint of Everything' and 'The Burning Question'.

The Burning Question will be available to purchase at the event and you never know you might be able to persuade Mike to sign your copy.....

This event will take place in the Ballroom in the George Hotel, there will be drinks available for purchase from the bar before and after the talks.

Entry to this event is strictly by pre-booked ticket only, so to make sure you get your seat,
