Individual membership

Nurture Lakeland has over 220 business members who, with the help of their visitors, contribute over £120,000 each year to conservation in the Lake District and Cumbria. Whilst our business members offer us consistent, regular support, quite often for visitors to the area it’s a case of ‘out of sight, out of mind’ once they return home.

We would like to change that by offering visitors, as well as local people, the opportunity to support Nurture Lakeland over a longer term and keep up to date with the projects they are interested in. To that end, this summer we will be launching a new Individual Membership.

Members will be offered a choice of membership fee which can be paid either as an annual lump sum, or as a direct debit each month.

The opportunity to join as a member and make a monthly pledge will all be available via Nurture Lakeland’s updated e-commerce website.

Members will receive e-newsletters and project updates to keep them informed of the latest news and issues, as well as any special offers from our business members and partners. Each year a range of exclusive events will also be organised to give members a rare ‘behind the scenes’ look at some of the conservation work which their membership fee helps to support.

We are really excited about this new opportunity to further develop the links between tourists, the businesses they visit, and local conservation projects in Cumbria. It will provide a new way of promoting our business members and the importance of sustainable tourism to a wide audience, for what we all hope is a greener future for our precious landscape.
