A Christmas lunch with a difference will be served on board one of the Windermere launches when supporters of Nurture Lakeland celebrate the festive season on the water.

Sailing from Ambleside on Tuesday Dec 17, the cruise will include a Christmas buffet and a chance to meet the team that helps local businesses look after their lakes and landscape.

There will also be a chance to hear entrepreneur businesswoman Jo Hampson talk about why she’s promoting local food in Cumbria.

Jo, who founded the Orton Farmers’ Market and runs the acclaimed food smoking school, Smoky Jo’s, is a former drama teacher and Thames Valley police chief superintendent. She has earned a reputation as an inspirational speaker, as well as winning prizes for local produce such as smoked marmalade. She’s also the author of Life Swap – the essential guide to downsizing. Also on board with the latest news from green campaigners Windermere Reflections will be their programme manager Liz Davey.
