Success at Staveley Mill Yard fundraising event!
05/11/09
Thanks to everyone who kindly donated to park their vehicle at the Staveley Mill Yard over the October half term. We raised £274.75 towards our Miles without Stiles project along the River Kent in Staveley. Also, a very special thank you to our volunteers - John Berry, Helen Mitchinson, Alan Wilkinson and Helen Batty, who helped run this event. This money will help kick start our project and the development of a new walk that everyone can enjoy.

Young Artists back Riverside Project
"Creative pupils from Staveley Primary School have helped design art for a fundraising board, to highlight a new riverside project in the village.
The Tourism and Conservation Partnership is working with the Lake District National Park Authority and residents to raise £15,000 to create an improved riverside walk along the banks of the River Kent. The aim is to make a path which is accessible for people with limited mobility, wheelchair users, pushchairs, young families and the elderly.
Corporate Fundraiser Tiffany Solender said: 'children have worked on the pictures at the bottom of the boards and we hope to have their help in planting some new hedges when the new river footpath has been put in'.
The information board will keep poeple up to date on the project's progress - and Mrs Solender siad the partnership is also seeking volunteers to assist fundraising efforts.
The partnership hopes to obtain match-funding for the project. Early fundraising efforts have seen £200 raised through holding a duck race, while donations from motorists at a free car park have raised a further £275 towards the scheme."
